Motor runs. Door stays still.

Door starts down, then reverses.
Sensor alignment, wiring, travel settings or resistance in the door can be involved. The symptom alone does not identify the cause.
Remote or keypad will not respond.

Chain or belt loose or snapped.
A hanging chain, damaged belt or snapped drive can stop the opener from moving the door. We inspect the chain or belt, sprocket and tensioning assembly to determine what needs repair or replacement.

A Failed Part May Be Replaceable
A damaged drive component does not automatically mean you need a complete new opener. We check the condition of the unit and whether suitable replacement parts are available.

Clues That Help Us Find the Fault
A control message or sensor light is useful information. We check it against the model and the way the system behaves.
Error messages
This control shows “Motor Control — Error Code 1-5.” Send the exact wording when booking. The correct checks depend on the opener model and its instructions.
Safety sensors
We inspect sensor alignment, mounting and connections when assessing closing problems. An illuminated indicator alone does not confirm that the whole system is working correctly.

If the opener runs but the door stays still, we check the trolley and its connection to the door arm for disengagement, wear or damage.

Do I need to know which part is broken?
No. Describe what happens when you use the opener. A model number and a clear photo taken safely from the floor can help us prepare.
Does a running motor mean the opener is working?
Not necessarily. The motor may run while a drive component or connection fails to move the door. A problem with the door itself can also affect operation.
What should I do with an error code?
Note the full code or message and the model number if you can see it safely. Share those details when booking. Avoid assuming that a code identifies a part that must be replaced.
What warranty applies to opener repairs?
Parts warranty coverage follows the applicable opener brand’s terms and varies by model and part. ADR provides a 1-year labour warranty on the repair work we perform. We explain the applicable parts and labour coverage before you approve the repair.
